Tracie C. Atherton currently holds the position of Screener/Case Manager at East Carolina University’s Center for Counseling and Student Development. She has over 8 years of clinical experience related to mental health, substance use, and rehabilitation counseling and vocational evaluation. She has been working with her own dog, Bug, as a registered animal therapy team since March 2011 as a registered therapy team through Pet Partners. Incorporating animals into therapeutic interventions is a special interest to her and she would love to see AAI become more widely integrated within the counseling process.
