Biography

Kristen is an experienced yoga teacher with over 5,000 hours of teaching hours and 10+ years of experience. She founded K10Yoga, non-profit whos mission is to create conditions for everyone to access the benefits of yoga and wellness. She isn’t afraid to ask the question around who is not in our yoga spaces and why. Through her Yoga Teacher Training programs, she has been able to create a diverse directory of over 100 yoga teachers from many different backgrounds who understand trauma, body-affirming language, and have a social justice approach to the practice. Many of these teachers then work in their respective communities and across lines of difference, to build relationships and offer the healing benefits of yoga in a unique and authentic way.

Through her CoOp Studio, Online Studio, Yoga Teacher Training, and Outreach Programs like Winston-Salem Yoga Festival, Kristen has transformed the way yoga is being offered to reflect community over competition and people over profit. Kristen has studied with Off the Mat Into the World, CTZNWELL, Skill in Action, Refuge Recovery, and Justice groups across the country. She is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapist, Forsyth County ACE Connections Network, a facilitator for Yoga 12 Step Recovery (Y12SR), and a facilitator trainer for the Embody Love Movement. She has worked with community members to create the Winston-Salem Wellness Reform program to call yoga and wellness practitioners, studios and trainers into understanding how oppression and exclusion show up in wellness spaces and train wellness leaders in trauma, anti-racism work, LGBTQ+ safety, and inclusivity so we can all do better in serving the historically underserved and unseen populations in the community.
