February 20th through 23rd, 2022

Concurrent In-Person & Virtual School Options Available.

Winter School Begins In

About The Conference

The Premier School for Addiction Professionals in the Southeastern United States

The Board of Directors and staff of NCFADS are pleased to offer both an in person and virtual 2022 Winter School. Participants will be able to earn up to 29 hours, dependent upon attendance. The sessions will include many of the required types of content for credentialing, such as ethics, clinical supervision, and many of the subspecialty credits that NCASPPB requires. We will offer our usual types of professional credits as well.

In-person attendees will have the same great School experience that is traditionally offered, with exhibitors, networking opportunities, and meals and breaks, with every effort made to ensure a safe atmosphere for participants. NCFADS will comply with all policies and guidance from the NC Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other authorities.

The virtual option utilizes a conference platform that allows attendees to connect with presenters, network with other virtual participants, participate in interactive polling that provides real time results, and watch each presentation live. All sessions are consecutive, following one after the other, with breaks provided.

The 2022 NCFADS Winter School opens Sunday, February 20th at 1:00pm and concludes Wednesday, February 23rd at 12:00 noon. Each session must be attended in its entirety to receive credit.
The Foundation Board and Staff thank you for your interest in the NCFADS Schools. If you have any additional questions, please contact Debbie Rogers at ExecutiveDirector@ncfads.org

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • — Students can NOT combine in-person and virtual registrations.
  • — CRCC credit is available ONLY for in-person attendance. It is not available for the virtual option. There is an additional charge of $30.00 for the CRCC credit, which must be paid prior receiving CRCC credit.

…as well as implement these skills in their daily practice.

COVID CONSIDERATIONS

NCFADS as well as the Embassy Suites are taking necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our attendees at Winter School 2022. We are also complying with state and local requirements for this in-person event.

Hand Sanitation

NCFADS and the Embassy Suites are providing hand sanitizer available at the registration desk and throughout the exhibits and hotel conference space. Lunch and breaks will have disposable gloves for serving as well. Participants are also asked to be mindful of social distancing during breaks.

Special Cancellation Policy

NCFADS will work with any in-person attendee on an individual basis who falls ill or who is exposed to COVID just prior to the School. We do not encourage attendance if you are sick. Please email  ExecutiveDirector@ncfads.org if this happens and we will change your attendance to the virtual option.

Masking & Social Distancing

Each participant must wear a mask in all public spaces, per the Embassy Suites and Guildford County mandates. Please bring personal masks and we will also provide a mask if you need one. All sessions will be set up with classroom style tables (no round tables) to enable us to provide as much distancing in sessions as possible. Space is at a premium and spacing may be difficult, thus we are requiring all attendees to wear a mask while participating in all School activities.

All sessions will have reduced attendance capacity, to allow us to provide as much space as possible between participants. Therefore, sessions will be held to a limited number of attendees to assist us with seating arrangements. Please choose your sessions early, understanding we may not be able to accommodate you if space capacity has been reached. On-site session changes may also not be possible due to spacing considerations.

Exhibitors

Exhibitors will be spaced as far apart as possible, and participants are asked to observe courtesy and social distancing when visiting an exhibitor’s table.

In-Depth + Intense Learning

The Full School Provides up to 29 Total Hours of Credit

Unlike webinars or one day conferences, NCFADS provides professionals and students with in-depth and immersive knowledge, taught over the course of 4 days, and by nationally recognized experts in the field.

Flexible School Packages

Flexible Options to Meet Your Unique In-Person and Virtual Schedule

We understand the pressures of being a professional in the field, and furthermore recognize the struggles of acquiring much needed continuing education while operating a private practice. We offer seven flexible school packages for your convenience, including a virtual option for select sessions.

Connect. Network. Engage.

Unique Opportunities to Meet Professionals from All Over the Globe

Networking is critical in today’s fast-paced and tech-centric world.  There is no better way to form long-lasting and worthwhile connections like peer-to-peer networking. There are plenty of opportunities during the School to meet and connect with individuals and organizations that may be able to advance your career or professional practice.

Meet Our Knowledge Leaders

For over 40 years, the North Carolina Foundation for Alcohol and Drug Studies (NCFADS) has attracted and retained some of the world’s most recognized and noteworthy faculty speakers. And in keeping with that tradition, we are pleased to announce our 2022 Winter School Speakers & Faculty…
