Osiyo (“Hello” in Cherokee), my name is Tishina Carroll and I’m a proud member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
I obtained my MSW from Western Carolina University in 2015. I’m a licensed clinical social worker, a licensed clinical social worker and a certified clinical supervisor. According to the American Psychological Association (https://www.apa.org/workforce/data-tools/demographics), there are .12% of Native American therapists throughout the country. I am proud to be included in that .12%.
I was born and raised in Western North Carolina. I’ve been a licensed clinician for nine years. I spent the first eight years working within a large opioid treatment program. Last year, I branched out on my own and am now doing contract work as a private practice clinician.
I have been married for 18 years and my husband and I have a 17 year old son. We also have two cats, one dog and a tortoise.
