Biography

Ed Johnson obtained a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and a master’s degree in clinical counseling from the Citadel. He recently retired but serves on the Board of Faces and Voices of Recovery (FAVOR) Lowcountry in Charleston, SC and on the Peer Support Specialist Certification Commission (PSSCC) for South Carolina. For the previous thirty-five years he worked in the field of addiction treatment and recovery. During twenty of those years, Ed facilitated trainings on addiction treatment and recovery topics in South Carolina and the Southeast. Most importantly, for the past forty years, Ed has been a person in long-term recovery from substance use disorders. He is currently credentialed / licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), Licensed Addiction Counselor Supervisor (LACS), Master Addiction Counselor (MAC), a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CS), and a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS).
