MAIN-A. Clinical Supervisor Roles and Responsibilities: Realizing and Implementing Essential Gatekeeping Approaches

Presenter: Jessica Holton, MSW, LCSW, LCAS, LISAC

Description: It has been stated that clinicians will repeat the mistakes of their supervisors. Clinical supervision is not a role to take lightly. Despite busy schedules, large caseloads, professional pressures, and Public Health Emergencies, it is essential to provide effective clinical supervision to associate clinicians and students. As a critical gatekeeper for the profession, clinical supervisors must abide by statutes, administrative codes, and ethics. This presentation will discuss regulatory obligations, supervision agreements, disclosure statements, and professional wills.
