Barden Culbreth lives in Raleigh and grew up in Robeson County, NC. He is a graduate of North Carolina State University with an undergraduate degree in Political Science. Following graduation in 2005 he was a research associate on NCSU’s Centennial Campus. He has also has years of experience in the private sector. In 2007, Culbreth was employed with Randolph Cloud and Associates, a management firm which provides administrative support to occupational licensing boards. He initially served as Associate Director to the NC Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board, and in 2014 was named Executive Director. Culbreth was appointed to the NC Employee Assistance Professional Board, where he served as Chair for several terms. Since 2016, Culbreth has also served on the City of Raleigh Historic Cemeteries Advisory Board, where he was elected Chair and Vice Chair. In 2017, Governor Cooper appointed Culbreth to the Museum of Natural Sciences Advisory Board. He is Treasurer of the Capitol Area Grange.
He is currently enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke’s Master of Business Administration program, with an anticipated graduation at the end of 2021.
