Biography

Caroline is a NC Certified Peer Support Specialist and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor-Intern employed as a Recovery Coach with Pavillon By The Sea since November of 2016.  She is also a person in long term recovery.  As part of her recovery, she committed to her yoga practice in 2013 and decided to pursue her 200 hour RYT a few years later.  In 2015, she received her certification from Yoga for the Planet and has since been certified in Trauma Informed Yoga, Y12SR (Yoga 12 Step Recovery), Chair Yoga, and Yin Yoga.  She’s passionate about learning and continues to take workshops and trainings to enhance her personal practice and her teaching abilities. She is now an E-RYT 200 with Yoga Alliance.  Caroline aims to create personal healing, freedom, and awareness while sharing the practice of yoga with her students.  She weaves in recovery themes from literature and her own recovery when she works with her clients individually and in group settings with Y12SR.  Her intention is to help her clients and students connect with their bodies in a safe, nurturing, and patient way so that being present is a joyful experience rather than one needing constant escape.  She has had great success and remarkable feedback from her clients over the years who have SUD and co-occurring diagnoses.  She is excited to share this practice and the principles of recovery and yoga with those recovering as well as recovery professionals.
