Biography

Cheryl is a nationally Board-Certified Music Therapist who received a Bachelor of Music Therapy at Radford University.  Originally from Galax, VA, she enjoys traveling to ANYWHERE, USA!  When not at the Music Academy, you can find Dianne in church, performing a concert or at home. She has recorded original music and often works with clients to create their own. She has clinical music therapy experience in addiction treatment, women’s health issues, family treatment, geriatric population, wellness, pain management, palliative care, developmental disabilities and more. As an active clinician with the American Music Therapy Association, she presents continuing education sessions at state, regional and national conferences for music therapy related topics.

Her creative talent shines bright in her artistry of songwriting. She enjoys teaching individuals of all abilities and helping to unlock their world with creative expression. Her passion is empowering individuals to independence through helping them discover and unlock their individuality and inner strength. She enjoys reading anything from Maya Angelou. She truly enjoys teaching others and admires student’s creativity and talents.  Dianne is passionate about her work with music therapy and in music and being able to empower others through music.
