Ivey Lewis Chavis is a licensed clinical social worker employed by the Durham VA Health Care System. Ivey Chavis attended Public School in Eastern North Carolina graduating from Farmville Central High School. He earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work from East Carolina University; a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from North Carolina State. He also earned a degree in Business Management from Shaw University where he was Adjunct Professor for twelve years.
Ivey is a disciple of Christian Faith Baptist Church and serves as Deacon for Men’s, Trustees and Family Support Ministries. He is actively involved in prison ministry and re-entry through Project Nehemiah, Inc; hearing health and healthy choices for women.
Ivey is wedded in life with Sondra formerly Crutchfield. They have two darling daughters, Julia and Ariel. They have together served the Raleigh NC community for the past 27 years.
