Sarah Cothren is the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention North Carolina Chapter Associate Area Director. She is a suicide loss survivor, having lost two friends to suicide. Prior to joining AFSP-NC as staff in January 2021, Sarah served on the Board of Directors, co-chaired the Public Policy Committee, assisted in educational presentations, and founded and led the UNC-Chapel Hill Out of the Darkness Campus Walk. Sarah currently resides in Durham with her partner and their two corgis, Nigel and Stella.
