Kori Hennessey, BA (pronouns: they/them/theirs) is the Director of Education and Programs at the LGBT Center of Raleigh in Raleigh, North Carolina. They manage and oversee the 25+ programs at the Center and provides comprehensive trainings on the LGBTQIA+ community. Kori is also on the consultant team for the Transgender Access Project at Orange County Rape Crisis Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. They provide expertise, knowledge and lived experience to the educational department and support to the overall agency while working towards becoming a more affirming and safe service for survivors in Orange County.
Kori specializes in LGBTQIA+ education and has worked with many companies and organizations including NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), Duke Raleigh, NC Coalition Against Human Trafficking and Wake County Public School System. They have gone through an extensive training for trainers program with the Transgender Training Institute and recently completed the Nonprofit Management program at Duke University. They have over ten years of experience working with underrepresented communities in a variety of settings and has a passion for working in social justice environments. Kori’s proven experience and knowledge has helped create safer spaces for LGBTQIA+ people all over.
