Biography

Mat Sandifer. LCSW, LCAS, CSI, has been a member of North Carolina’s Substance Use Disorder professional community since 1992, working in both private and public institutions throughout the clinical continuum of care.  Mat earned a Master of Social Work from UNCG and NCA&T.  As a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Addictions Professional, and Certified Supervisor Intern, Mat founded New Vision Therapy, PLLC, in Greensboro and Reidsville, NC. Mat proudly joined the team at The Blanchard Institute as Clinical Director at the end of 2021. Mat was appointed to the Guilford County Board of Mental Health and served as a member of the Client’s Rights Committee for Guilford County. For the last eight years, Mat served on the Addiction Professionals of North Carlina (APNC) Board as the past Vice President for the North Central Region of Addiction Professionals of North Carolina, and currently serves as an at large member. As co-chair of the Social Justice Committee of APNC Mat works toward increasing access to SUD services for all NC citizens. Mat presently sits on the executive committee of NAADAC as Vice President for the South East Region of NAADAC.  As an advocate for substance abuse treatment, Mat is a founding member of CURE Triad, a public safety, public health, public education, healthcare, and substance use disorder providers and community advocates coalition. Mat is honored with opportunities to speak with business, professional, community and advocacy groups about substance use disorder and mental health treatment. Lastly, Mat is a person in long term recovery and will happily discuss his journey as a recovering person.
