Sharon McDaniel, PhD, LCAS, CCS, MAC, is a Trainer and Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor for the North Carolina Department of Public Safety’s Alcohol and Chemical Dependency Program (ACDP). She joined ACDP in 2020 after spending over 25 years working in state and local substance abuse programs and the community college system. Dr. McDaniel has worked in clinical and academic roles that include Human Services Technology Associate Professor and Department Chair at Guilford Technical Community College, Program Director for R.J. Blackley Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center (ADATC), Substance Abuse Services Clinical Director for Sandhills Center, and Clinical Consultant for community programs.
Dr. McDaniel is passionate about nurturing counselors in their professional development, and helping organizations improve systems of care for individuals with substance use disorders.
