Stephanie K. Morell, MS, LCAS, is a licensed clinical addictions counselor providing outpatient treatment and prevention services at East Coast Counseling, Inc. in Greenville, NC. She has worked with a wide range of populations, including children, adolescents and adults, and she specializes in trauma-focused therapy, expressive arts therapy, clinical hypnotherapy, as well as comprehensive addictions counseling. Stephanie is an ardent advocate for person-centered and strength-based motivational empowerment, with an emphasis on social justice and equitable access to care for all. Stephanie operates clinically from a holistic, humanistic, and habilitative approach.
Stephanie is also currently working with East Carolina University (ECU) Physicians and the ECU Brody School of Medicine as the Telepsychiatry Business Service Coordinator and Grant Administration Specialist. She provides assistance to uninsured and underinsured individuals in North Carolina who are seeking or already receiving Psychiatry services, by accessing and securing state funding for all eligible clients. She also works closely with the Telepsychiatry physicians and clinics across all of North Carolina’s MCO catchment areas to ensure proper credentialing and contracts are in place between all invested parties.
Stephanie graduated from the East Carolina University Department of Addictions and Rehabilitation Studies in 2012 with three Master’s Degrees in: M.S. Substance Abuse & Clinical Counseling; M.S. Rehabilitation Counseling; and M.S. Vocational Evaluation. From 2012 to today, Stephanie’s clinical field experience has extended across many various levels of care and specialties, including outpatient, inpatient, Intensive In-Home, substance abuse intensive outpatient (SAIOP), residential, day treatment, Department of Corrections, Health Departments, employment counseling, as well as prevention, education, outreach, and advocacy services.
Stephanie has been presenting and consulting regularly at national, state, and regional professional conferences since 2011, including NCFADS, NCRA, EAHEC, NCVEWAA, NCVECAP, and NCPARC. She is currently an active Board member for NCVEWAA and NCVECAP as the Eastern Regional Representative, as well as an active Board member for the Magnolia Arts Center.
