Louis Leake, CADV, NCAIC, ICADC, CRC, is a Retired U.S. Army Veteran and after leaving the military became a Program Director for a yearlong Faith Based Therapeutic Community Program. He has led successful Prison, Men’s Ministries as Well as Small Group for Celebrate Recovery and Marriage Courses. Louis received his Certified Substance Abuse Counselor certification in 2010 and has worked at Carolina Treatment Center in Medication Assisted Treatment for individuals that struggled with Opioid Used Disorder for the past thirteen years. Louis was the recipient of the 2010 APNC New Outstanding Professional Award In 2011.
Louis is currently the Clinic Director at Carolina Treatment Center in Fayetteville NC., and an adjunct instructor for Fundamental Skills of Substance Abuse Counseling at Fayetteville Technical Community College. He is a member of the City of Fayetteville Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion Program, Participates with local Chamber of Commerce Events and the (C.A.R.E.) Community Addiction Resource Exchange Coalition, Fayetteville Cumberland Reentry Council, Cumberland Fayetteville Opioid Response Team (CFORT). CEASE Fire Gang Initiative, has been involved with Facing Addiction Through Community Empowerment and Intervention Teams (FACE-IT!) Advisory Board and a myriad of other community efforts to educate on stigma and treatment of Substance Use Disorders. He participates in a quarterly one-hour radio talk show with the local hospital providing awareness on identifying and treating Opioid Use Disorders. He utilizes all of these connections to advocate for all patients in MAT and to educate stakeholders on the efficacy of treatment.
Louis was the Regional Vice President of the Addiction Professional of North Carolina from 2014-2016. Louis received the APNC “Art Of Counseling Award” in 2015. Louis has been a member of APNC since 2009 and became a Certified Recovery Coach in September of 2015 and received his National Addiction Counseling Certification in January 2016.
