Michael McGuire, LCSW, LCAS, LMFT a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist was an apprentice to John Edwards beginning in 1995. Michael has incorporated the family systems lessons, strategies, and interventions he learned from Edwards in various roles, including clinical director, therapist, counselor for military families (Ramstein Air Base, Germany), trainer, supervisor, or child and family advocate within the community. Michael’s expertise includes adolescent development, couples and family counseling, program development, clinical supervision, substance abuse, trauma, multiple family group therapy, experiential treatment, and Motivational Interviewing (MINT National Trainer). He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at the School of Social Work at UNC Chapel Hill.
