Volunteer With Us

You can help guide the direction of NCFADS

Thank you for your interest in joining the North Carolina Foundation for Alcohol & Drug Studies (NCFADS) as a volunteer. As a nonprofit, we rely heavily on the skills, passion, and energy of our volunteers. Without the dedication and reliability of our volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to conduct impactful trainings and empower attendees with knowledge and resources.

We welcome anyone who has time to invest, passion for the mission, and a desire to help us get this important work done. You do not need to be a professional within the addictions profession. If you have other skills or areas of expertise (i.e. accounting, legal, event planning, management, photography, etc.), we would love for you to fill out our volunteer application.

As NCFADS grows, our volunteer opportunities will expand. At the moment, our current volunteer opportunities are:

  • Curriculum Committee volunteer
  • Marketing & Communication Committee volunteer
  • Scholarships & Awards Committee volunteer
  • Development Committee volunteer
  • Board of Directors
    • Board President
    • Board Vice President
    • Board Treasurer
    • Board Secretary
    • Curriculum Committee Chair
    • Marketing & Communications Committee Chair
    • Scholarships & Awards Committee Chair
    • General Board Member

If you have any questions, please contact NCFADS’ Executive Director, Sarah Cothren.

Help lead NCFADS as we achieve our mission

Serving on the Board of Directors for a nonprofit organization is an incredibly rewarding and impactful experience. Board Members play a key role in guiding the organization’s mission, providing strategic direction, and ensuring its long-term sustainability. For the NC Foundation for Alcohol and Drug Studies (NCFADS), serving on the Board means contributing to our vital work of providing high-quality training and education to addiction professionals. As a Board Member, you are directly involved in shaping policies, fundraising efforts, and initiatives that foster education and professional growth for our constituents. The work is both challenging and deeply meaningful, offering the chance to make a lasting difference in the lives of our constituents. Being part of NCFADS allows Board Members to collaborate with dedicated professionals, advocates, and community leaders to drive positive change and empower those in need.
